World Archery Federation

The World Archery Federation (WA) is the world governing body for the sport of archery, recognised by and a core sport of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), the International Paralympic Committee (IPC), the Universiades and many other organisations. The head office for WA is in Lausanne, Switzerland. In 2005, Prof Dr Ugur ERDENER (TUR) was elected President. Dr ERDENER is also a Member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and the President of the National Olympic Committee in Turkey. World Archery currently consists of 150+ Member Associations (national federations and associations), that are the governing bodies for archery in each country covering the continents of Africa, The Americas, Asia, Europe and Oceania. World Archery serves to promote and regulate archery world-wide through its Member Associations and in conformity with the Olympic principles. It aims at initiating and interpreting the World Archery Rules in the organisation of World Championships, World Cups and other international multi-sport events incorporating archery. World Archery promotes archery through a wide range of media channels and sponsors.
